This morning, your tour guide will pick you up at your hotel for your triathlon adventure through the Sacred Valley. We will go by private van till Chinchero, a beautiful textile town where we will provide you with the safety equipment you need before starting the bike ride. This is a great tour for most people as the paths are flat and we will take many bike-only trails. River valleys, glaciers and stunning views, with some occasional ruins along the way, will be our stunning scenery for the day. By bicycle we will go up to the Waypo Lake, where the kayaking adventure will start; no experience is needed as this is a very smooth and peaceful lake. You will relax and explore the lake with our professional Kayaks before taking a delicious picnic lunch at the bank of the lake, enjoying the amazing nature around you. After lunch we will bike some more off the beaten path to Maras, a typical Andean village. Here you will have a look at the streets and get a sense that you are back in the time of the Incas as a lot of the culture has remained very similar. The people continue to wear traditional clothing and the town is lined with historical buildings. Also, you will have a chance to see the very impressive San Francisco Church. Furthermore, you will have an opportunity to visit the salt terraces of Maras to see and learn about an ancient pre-Incan method of producing salt. After visiting the salt flats, you will start the trekking through the Sacred Valley until you reach the Urubamba river. At the end of this active day we will transfer you back to your hotel in the Sacred Valley.
In the morning, your tour guide will meet you at your hotel in the Sacred Valley and take you to Ollantaytambo Train Station. From here, you will board the Train for a spectacular one and a half hour scenic journey to AguasCalientes. Upon your arrival, you will visit the breathtaking ruins of Machu Picchu, The Lost City of the Incas and begin your expedition around this sacred Incan site. As there are not as many people in the afternoons, it is more peaceful and enjoyable. You will learn about the history and visit the remarkable temples of the Sun and the Condor. You will also see aqueducts and houses, while learning some interesting facts about the Sacred Incan Terraces. Afterwards, you will board the train back to Ollantaytambo, where your driver will be waiting to take you back to Cusco.
